Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the minutes of April 1,2008 council meeting be adopted as presented.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Road Superintendent Report be accepted as presented.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Account Voucher No. 2008-03 in the amount of $58,845.27 be accepted and paid as presented.

WHEREAS the municipality Central Manitoulin is hosting Household Hazardous Waste Day’
AND WHEREAS each municipality is billed a share of advertising and based on the number of people who attend the site on that day from our municipality;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Council declines participating for this year.

WHEREAS John Landyut has made a request to enter an agreement with the municipality for opening the extension of the Glen Road under by-law 99-06 being the Unopened Road Allowance By-law
BE IT RESOLVED that authorizes the Clerk to enter this agreement with Mr. Landuyt..

WHEREAS a reliable backup for the municipalities records is not in place
AND WHEREAS a quote has been received for offsite backup service from MSD computers,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That Council authorizes the Clerk to acquire these backup services.

WHEREAS Council is in receipt of a proposed budget for the Township of Gordon,
AND WHEREAS this proposed budget included a 2% increase in tax rates for the municipality due to increased costs for road products and services;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council adopts the proposed tax rates as budget as presented.

Whereas By-law 2008-0 being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of the April meeting be accepted as presented.
