Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm
Delegation – Marie Foster was in attendance to address question regarding Manitoulin Centennial Manor. She explained how funding was distributed, the original agreement was in 1967, and thought some developments with funding should be seen soon, so suggested to council to “Wait & See” . Any motions regarding the Manor are tabled for the time.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council authorize to tender for 300 metres of pit run, 1500 metres of gravel (M) as well as a stockpile of 500 metres of AGG II on municipal property.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Clerk-Treasurer be authorized to attend the Zone 7 AMCTO Spring & Fall workshops as well as the AMCTO annual conference in June held in Kingston, ON.

BE IT RESOLVED that Account Voucher #2007-4 in the amount of $68,736.69 be paid as presented and the Cemetery Voucher in the amount of $1,718.50.

AND WHEREAS they would like to give the public opportunity to comment
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT a Public meeting be set for May 30th at 7:30 pm and advertised.

WHEREAS the date has come up for applying to the Province of Ontario Courts for excess monies from 2006 Land Tax Sales
AND WHEREAS the cost per file is $1000.00
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Clerk be authorized to retain Municipal Tax Recovery Co. to apply for these monies on files over $1000.00.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council authorizes the caretaking reate to be $11.00 per hour for municipal buildings.

WHEREAS high speed internet access can only be received via satellite
AND WHEREAS there is a program through NEONET which covers 75% of the cost of satellite internet;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Clerk be authorized to apply for this funding.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Township of Gordon transfer $25,000 from the Operating Reserve to the General Funds to cover over expenditures due to building renovations.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Gordon Township will provide a lunch for the attendees of the Chainsaw Operators course;
AND THAT a silver collection for the lunch be suggested.

WHEREAS the Waste Management Committee recommends to Council that the proposal submitted by Waters Environmental Geosciences Ltd in the amount of $42,320.00 be accepted as it was the only RFP received;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Council supports the Committees recommendation.

WHEREAS some alternations to the water pump need to be made in order for the equipment to work efficiently;
AND WHEREAS a quote from Wahl Water Treatment in the amount of $6099.00 +GST was received;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Council authorizes these improvements.
