BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following be added to the agenda: 7) Unfinished Business – note letters from auditor quotes will be on Oct 18 meeting agenda; resolution for snowplow contract rates for 2005/06; 9k) Recreation – Arena donation; 10.c) resolution from Greater Sudbury re: support for farm tax credit; 10d) Letter re: Hawberry Jamboree; 10e) Resolution to accept snowplow tender document; 11b) In-Camera to discuss legal matter; 11c) Letter from Lawr re: decision not to plow further on Ice Lake Drive; 11d) Update re: COMRIF

WHEREAS The Corporation of the Township of Gordon have heard the request from D& S Meerylees re: plowing the concession road at Tobacco Lake;
AND WHEREAS it is a fact that the road is not up to standard (classification 6);
AND WHEREAS it would not be possible for the Township plow to access this road;
THEREFORE be it resolved that the request to snowplow the Tobacco Lake road be declined.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT The Corporation of the Township of Gordon accepts the CBO and Road Superintendent Reports for August and September as presented.

WHEREAS the Town of Espanola is having a snowplow operator training session on November 3, 2005;
AND WHEREAS the cost is $150.00 per person plus GST;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Road Superintendent be authorized to attend and registration and mileage will be paid.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the minutes of September 6,2005 regular and public council meetings be accepted as presented.

WHEREAS expenses for the services of snowplowing have increased;
AND WHEREAS the municipality does individual contracts for snowplowing;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the rates for plowing shall increase to $120.00 per hour with $60.00 minimum and each client be sent contract with new rates.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Accounts Voucher #2005-09 in the amount of $44,846.87 and the Cemetery Voucher in the amount of $1,810.50 be accepted as presented.

WHEREAS the Town of Gore Bay supplies water to some residents in the township of Gordon;
AND WHEREAS Council feels that administration and all aspects of the service could be better administered by removing the middleman;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Township of Gordon formally requests that the Town of Gore Bay take over the administration and ownership of water for the residents of Gordon who have Town water.

WHEREAS the Corporation of the Township of Gordon acknowledges the importance of the Arena in the Town of Gore Bay;
AND WHEREAS residents in the community use the facility;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Township of Gordon donate $4000.00 to the Town of Gore Bay for the Memorial Arena.

BE IT RESOLVED that the following people be billed for calcium that was spread on private roads and driveways in the municipality at their request;
N.Morrell $214.11, J.Hietkamp $299.23, M.Orford $299.23, S.Burns $85.12, A.McDougal $156.49, T.Jackson $299.23, and the Town of Gore Bay $3054.02.

BE IT RESOLVED that By-law No.2005-15 being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of the September 6th Public and General Council meeting be accepted as read.

WHEREAS the City of Greater Sudbury is requesting support for resolution petitioning the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to consider the detrimental effect that the changes in criteria for farm tax credits and allowances will have on Northern communities;
AND WHEREAS the Township of Gordon is a rural Northern Community;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we support the City of Greater Sudbury’resolution.
