BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Corporation of the Township of Gordon accept the following additions to the agenda: 3) Delegation – Mike Steele of Gore Bay Fire Department; application for lottery license from Manitoulin Island Country Club; review logo for municipality; review U.S. By-law; review lottery license fees by-law; resolution of support for clean drinking water; invitation to Museum opening June 17th; Tobacco Lake area building request; and additions to the Voucher in the amount of $21,038.96 and the Cemetery Voucher in the amount of $1,151.86.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Corporation of the Township of Gordon accepts Account Voucher 2005-05 in the amount of $77,076.52 and the Cemetery Voucher in the amount of $3,103.77.

WHEREAS the following tenders for gravel for the township were received: Don Eadie Construction in the amount of $62,862.50 and H & R Noble Constructions in the amount of $60,955.65;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the tender from H & R Noble Construction be accepted for the supply & hauling of gravel for the Township of Gordon.

WHEREAS, currently a municipality is required to cover burial costs for person who are unclaimed and reside in their jurisdiction or person who are found within the limits of the municipal boundaries;
AND WHEREAS the Manitoulin-Sudbury DSSAB have presented a policy whereby they would administer funerals of such persons and member municipalities would share the costs of funerals for these persons;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Corporation of the Township of Gordon support the DSSAB resolution stating to proceed with the implementation of the draft policy for managing and assuming funeral costs.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Corporation of the Township of Gordon pass By-law #2005-07 being a by-law to establish tax ratios for the 2005 year as its 1st, 2nd and 3rd reading on the 7th day of June,2005.

WHEREAS the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace has asked Canadian municipalities to assist in its efforts to have the federal government recognize water as a common good and access to drinking water as a basic human right;
THEREFORE the Municipality of Gordon Township supports the Water Resolution of April 14,2005 of the City of Greater Sudbury as presented.
