BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following be added to the agenda: 10/e: In-camera to discuss legal matter & staffing, g)resolution to accept Land tenders, h) letter from Burpee/Mills for support re: MNR pitcher thistle, i) letter from Checkerboard Lane resident re Laneway

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Gordon Township accepts the CBO, By-law Officer and Road Superintendent Reports as presented.

WHEREAS the Road Superintendent requires a trailer hitch and wiring installed on his vehicle to accommodate hauling equipment for the municipality;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this be installed at the township’s cost.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of the December 6,2005 Regular Council meeting be accepted as presented.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Account Voucher #2005-12 in the amount of $60,575.00 be paid as presented.

WHEREAS Council has received a request for the use of the Public Beach for a wedding;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT a letter be sent to the individuals notifying them they may use the property and return it to the state it was found in.

BE IT RESOLVED that By-law No.2006-1 being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of the December General meeting be accepted as presented.

WHEREAS fifteen out of seventeen tenders were received for properties;
AND WHEREAS all procedures have been followed under the municipal act for Land Tax Sales;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the fifteen tenders be accepted and the remaining two be vested in the municipality.

WHEREAS a letter has been received from a property owner in Checkerboard Lane area requesting permission for him to open a laneway;
AND WHEREAS he is aware no services go along with the road opening;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT he be notified that Council has no objection to the road opening if he has a survey and no issues are forwarded to this office by the Planning Board.

WHEREAS the Township of Burpee/Mills is requesting Gordon Township’s support as they are in opposition to the MNR designating the pitcher thistle as an Endangered Species;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Gordon Township support Burpee/Mills and they be notified of such.

WHEREAS the Township of Gordon has seen the need for a Municipal Building that would better accommodate the municipality’s needs;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the township enter negotiations with Max Equipment Inc. for the former NCE building.

WHEREAS THE Township as a municipality can be a member of OMERS;
AND WHEREAS staff receive an annual percentage contribution to an RRSP;
AND WHEREAS for approximately the same amount could be made to an OMERS pension plan for the CAO/Clerk/Treasurer;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the RRSP contribution be replaced with OMERS contributions.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Township of Gordon enter an extention agreement with respect to Land Tax Sale property re Roll # 001 01400 & 001 01300.
