By-law 97-06 to Govern Installing Entrances in the Township

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF GORDON

BY-LAW NO. 97-06

Being a by-law to govern the installing
of entrances in the Township

WHEREAS Section 208 (17) Chapter 302 of the Municipal Act RSO 1990 as amended permits council to regulate the size and mode of construction of culverts and bridges that cross any drain or watercourse situated on a highway under the jurisdiction of the municipality.

NOW THEREFORE The council of the Corporation of the Township of Gordon enacts the following

1. All landowners wishing to have access on to their property from a Township
road must obtain a ‘Road Entrance Permit’.

2. Schedule ‘A’ the ‘Township of Gordon Road Entrance Permit’ forms part of
this by-law.

3. The initial cost of the entrance will be that of the landowner.

4. Township of Gordon’s specification for an entrance:

(a) Entrance to be a minimum of twenty feet in width.

(b) Size of culverts to be determined by Road Superintendent. In all cases
minimum size of culvert to be 15 inches in diameter by 24 feet in length.

(d) All entrances must be coarse pit run gravel covering the culvert with exception of two feet on either end of the culvert being exposed.

(e) The surface of the entrance to be crushed gravel to a minimum of five inches.

5. Culverts at entrances installed to the Township of Gordon’s specifications will be maintained and replaced by the Township at no cost to the land owner.

6. ‘ Township of Gordon’s Entrance Permit ’ fee $30.00

7. By-Law No. 90-03 is hereby rescinded
